University of the Pacific receives $100 Million Donation

As announced on May 7, 2007, on Pacific's website, the University of the Pacific was granted a $100 million donation from Bob and Jeannette Powell. This donation will establish the Robert C. and Jeannette Powell Fund.

Pacific stated that it was important that the donation be announced now during the University’s current campaign, “Investing in Excellence: The Campaign for Pacific.”

According to Pacific's press release, only six other universities in California, all of which are large research institutions, have received a larger gift.

This is a proud moment in the history of the University of the Pacific and all Pacific alumni should be excited and elated over the size and magnitude of this gift to the university.
